Chuck Sloan and Associates has become known as the go to people for the preparation of taxes for actors. We are very proud of our team of caring and experienced tax professionals who have helped thousands of clients save money on their taxes over the years. Chuck is personally acknowledged as one of the experts in the preparation of taxes for actors and other performers. He has been a facilitator for the Screen Actors Guild Foundation Tax Seminars as part of its "LifeRaft Series" for members for 7 years, wrote the Tax advice column for Backstage Magazine for 5 years and served as the Chairman of the S.A.G.- AFTRA- EQUITY VITA Program (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) and participated with the program for over ten years. Chuck has also served on the S.A.G. Board for four years and was a member of the S.A.G. Finance Committee for three of those years.

We specialize in preparing taxes for performers, and other members of the entertainment industry. Last year alone, we assisted well over 1500 of your friends and co-workers as well as numerous others outside of the industry. When you work with one of our preparers, you have access to the collective expertise of all our preparers (that’s over 85 years’ experience).  Our extensive experience in the tax industry allows us to deliver the highest quality preparation, lowest prices, and off-the-charts customer service.

We make the entire process easy to understand for all of our clients.
When you leave our office, you will know that no stone has been left unturned. We make sure to use every deduction that is legally allowed. Plus, we pride ourselves in knowing you feel comfortable with every element of your tax return.

We pride ourselves in teaching you about the tax process and when you have significant deductions, as those in the entertainment business usually do, it’s an everyday activity to maintain proper tax records.  That’s why we are equally proud that in our 20 year history, only four of our clients have ever had to pay a dollar more as a result of an examination by the IRS.

We have raised our rates significantly to accommodate the rising costs of the business including software and computer costs, insurance fees, and other typical business costs. At one time the professional status of our associates was limited to one CPA. Today we have the equivalent of two CPAs and five Enrolled Agents, that’s more than half our staff. For several years we have tried to institute higher fees as the season progresses in order to get our clientele to file sooner but we still find ourselves overwhelmed in late March and April. However, if you schedule an appointment during February you will still receive last year’s top rate. After February we find ourselves overwhelmed and therefore having to charge substantially more. The new fee schedule is outlined on the second page of our Engagement Letter (Page 16 of this packet and on the "Contact Us" tab above.).
